[BI] Flight Report AC YUL-YVR-TPE

 On 21st December, 2017, I traveled from Montreal to Taipei via Vancouver on Air Canada's Business class. It's my first time travelling on AC's long-haul Business and I had the opportunity to try both products offered by the Canadian flag carrier.
2017年12月21號,小弟乘坐加拿大航空的商務艙由蒙特利爾經溫哥華前往台北。此乃小弟第一次乘搭加航的長途商務客艙!

 The first flight to Vancouver departs at 7:30 EST. Afraiding the long queue during holiday season, I arrived at Montreal Trudeau airport at 5:40. It's my first time to try Teo Taxi's airport service on board the new Tesla Model X... A vrai dire, Tesla's suspension is actually~ very bumpy. But Teo Taxi's initiative is definately creating a new scene in Montreal's dirty taxi industry.
由蒙特利爾前往溫哥華的首班航班在東部標準時間朝早7:30起飛。以為擔心節假日間機場需要排長隊,於是小弟5:40就到達機場。首次選用Teo Taxi的機場服務,乘搭全新的Tesla Model X來到機場。講實在,Tesla的車的減震系非常差…… 不過不得不承認,Teo Taxi為滿城的的士行業帶來新氣象

 From stepping inside the terminal to lounge in only 17 minutes, including check-in and security! I have plenty of time to spend in AC's domestic Maple Leaf Lounge

 787-9 with new livery displayed at the lounge's entrance. Ironically, AC's 787-9 never comes to Montreal (Well, occasionnally you'll see a 787-9 doing YYZ-YUL as relief flight)!

 Unlike the International one which was renovated recently, the domestic lounge keeps the former AC corporate image prior to the colour scheme renewal in 2005. Nonetheless, the quite lounge in morning provides a very nice environment to rest.
貴賓室因為沒有經過裝修,很大程度上保留2005年前加航換色前的企業形象。無論如何,清晨沒人貴賓室真的很適合補覺

 A330 Business Class cabin. AC has two features of long-haul business class: Executive Pod and Classic Pod (used to be Executive Class). Executive Pod is the product on AC's 787s and renovated 777s while Classic Pods, introduced in 2007, are on 767s and A330s. The fish shell cabin on these older aircrafts are tracks of the trend back in the early 2000s.
A330的商務客艙。加航目前有兩種長途商務客艙,一種系舊稱Executive Class的Classic Pod,係在2007年推出的魚骨式公務客艙,現在只能夠在A330同767睇到。另一種則是在777和787上新的Executive Pod,改為Zodiac的反魚骨設計。

 Seats are relatively narrow, could become an all-flat bed. But why makes it so difficult to look out?

 In order to provide premium service for business passengers, AC is increasing the use of wide-body aircrafts on many of its transcontinental routes. You can see A330, 767, 777 and 787 on these routes: YVR-EWR, YVR-YYZ, YVR-YUL, YYC-YYZ, YYZ-LAX and YYZ-SFO. Unlike American carriers like United and American Airlines, AC does not have narrow-bodies with lie-flat products in the business class.
為了讓貴賓想用全躺的商務艙服務,加航最近加大了寬體客機在跨洲航班的使用。乘客可以看到A330、767、777和787等客機出現在:溫哥華-紐華克,溫哥華-多倫多,溫哥華-滿地可,卡加里-多倫度,多倫多-洛杉磯 和 多倫多-三藩市等航線上。不像美國的航空公司,加航並沒有在其任何窄體客機上裝平躺的商務客艙位。

Woke up at the middle of flight and felt the need of caffeine... Latte is made fresh with the espresso machine!
起來了,覺得身體缺咖啡因。於是麻煩阿婆(空姐真的是阿婆)整杯新鮮用Espresso機整的Latte

Also felt hungry, siu-maai and haa-gow are just as delicious as chaa-lau's!
又覺得要醫下肚~結果被蝦餃同燒麥驚艷!簡直不比茶樓的差

That's why they call it DreamLiner!

Chatting with one of the flight attendants, she told me "Taipei has changed a lot since the 1990s"
So I asked you were flying to Taipei for duties in the 1990s? (Air Canada never operated Taipei until June 2017, it was Canadian Airlines who operated this route before the airlines was taken over by Air Canada)
She told me she was flight attendant for Canadian Airlines back than, and she started with CP Air.
What an extraordinary carrier!
阿婆:我在90年代時經常去台北,現在變化很大呢
我:哈?您90年代時已經是空服員了?(加拿大航空2017年才首次開啟台北航線,之前僅在楓葉航空與加拿大國際航空合併前加拿大國際航空運營過溫哥華至台北的航班)
阿婆告訴我,她在太平洋航空公司(CP AIR)年代就已經加入空服員行列,經歷過CP年代,加拿大國際航空年代和合併後的加航年代。談到合併時的事件和後來申請破產保護的事件,婆婆告訴我當年的事如今還記憶猶新!
加拿大的航空業,特別是加航,能從九十年代千禧年代初頻臨倒閉到現在的風光,跟這一班默默付出的航空業從業人密不可分呢!

Then we proceed to take the new Taoyuan Airport MRT!

桃園機場捷運的直達車僅37分鐘就能將旅客由機場送到台北車站,很方便喲

Previous news reports indicated that the MRT is underused... As you can see, not only the train is full, some people don't even have a seat! The train got very crowdy after Chang Gung Memorial Hospital Station
之前的新聞不斷報道桃園捷運是吉車遊街。實際上,列車不僅坐滿,很多乘客都沒位子坐!過了長庚醫院站后,列車更是滿員

Arriving at Taipei Main Station
Air Canada's service is just as good as usual. After experiencing its international business class, it's understandable why it was rated the best airline in North America! And 787 remains my second favourite aircraft afterall!

加拿大航空公司的服務始終如一。雖然不及日系和東南亞航空公司的水平,但是評個北美最佳是名副其實。
另外,787夢想客機依然是排在小弟最喜歡的飛機的第二位!

But in less a year, I'm actually travelling again on this beautiful, quite and comfortable plane! Also with an European carrier like Air France who carried me last time on A340, this time German national-carrier Lufthansa are flying me back home from Frankfurt to Montreal. I've heard a lot of good review before and I confirm: it provides an amazing service and comfortable seats!  LH478 is operated by Lufthansa daily, departing at 1:30pm from Frankfurt and arrive at 3:30pm to Montreal, the flight time is about 7 hours and 30 minutes Lufthansa operates two flights to Montreal everyday, one from Frankfurt and the other from Munich. Air Canada also operates one daily flight between Montreal and Frankfurt. All other flights are A330-300, makes ...
